How the Deafblind Unit has helped its service users:
Computing
This is the little technical corner of our Centre. Here, we teach deafblind people about computers, or simply help them to write letters, go on the internet, or learn to type.
In some cases I’ve been able either to get a computer for a client or help them to buy an appropriate computer that suits their needs.
Funding is one of the biggest problems with a computer department. I would dearly love to get every one of my clients a computer, but lack of money restricts us. However, we have had some help in this direction from the Millennium Award scheme, with which we have been involved.
